Middle East Summer Insight Scheme

We understand that choosing the right place to begin your career is a pivotal decision. At Dentons, we offer you the chance to balance genuine work experiences with training and networking opportunities, providing a glimpse of what a career here could entail. Our two-week scheme will offer you, and us, valuable insights into the firm, and help build your career in commercial law.

During the scheme, you’ll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in our practice areas, working with your supervisor and collaborating closely with your team. We’re committed to offering you a genuine taste of life at Dentons, and you’ll be entrusted with real responsibilities to match.

Candidates will have the option to complete their scheme in one of our Middle East offices including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Muscat, Doha, Jordan and KSA.

“I definitely liked every moment of the two weeks, as there was more than just work to be done. When I was first introduced to the team, I was told that the Abu Dhabi office is like a family, and I saw that at the bowling social and during our interactions with the office members. Overall, the experience was very beneficial as I learnt how to properly draft emails and create PowerPoints and memos for a law firm, among other tasks… The assistance and feedback I received was very helpful as I received comments on every task I submitted and suggestions on how to improve it, which I really enjoyed. “

“I found the exposure to different practice areas incredibly valuable. It gave me a better understanding of how the different departments interact with each other on complex deals. I also really enjoyed the opportunity to engage directly with trainees, associates and partners, and to receive insights and a better understanding of being a lawyer at a firm like Dentons.”

“The best part was the opportunity we had to try different departments and different seats, it gave us a insight on what each departments holds and how it works.”

For our Middle East Trainee Solicitor Programme, fluency in both written and verbal Arabic is preferable. We value the importance of effective communication in a diverse region and seek candidates who can bridge language barriers seamlessly.

We are eager to hear from nationals of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries interested in qualifying as solicitors in England and Wales.

For our Middle East Insight Scheme, while fluency in both written and verbal Arabic is preferable, it is not a pre-requisite.

Putting you in context

We understand that academic performance can vary, and we take a holistic approach to application assessment. Whilst we generally look for strong A-Level (or equivalent) performance, we evaluate every application in its unique context. If you believe you can submit a strong application, even if you don’t meet the typical grade requirements, we encourage you to apply.

If you’ve faced challenges or have had experiences that may have impacted your academic performance, we invite you to include these as part of your application. We recognise the importance of understanding the full context of each applicant’s journey.

To ensure a fair and informed selection process, we’ve implemented the Rare Recruitment Contextual Recruitment System. This system provides us with additional context for each candidate’s application, helping us make more comprehensive and inclusive decisions.
